Major Dr. Jean-Baptiste Ouédraogo (born June 30, 1942) was President of Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) from 8 November 1982 to 4 August 1983,[1] when he was overthrown in a coup d’état which brought Thomas Sankara into power.
He is a medical doctor and currently operates a medical facility (Notre-Dame de la Paix) on the outskirts of Ouagadougou.[2]
